Description About the Activities & Recreation Center (ARC) The Activities & Recreation Center (ARC) is hiring for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ARC is the hub of student life on campus, a place for students to gather, socialize, dine, and exercise. The ARC is hiring students from both Cascadia College and the University of Washington Bothell to join our team. ARC Mission Statement: The ARC's mission is to be a place for the campus to connect through community and play. Position Purpose: Within the Activities and Recreation Center, the Front Desk staff supports events and activities within the facility. The staff in this role support the daily operations of the ARC, and events that take place within the ARC, provide excellent customer service and assist with inquiries and check-out items. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Activities & Recreation Center (ARC) and Facility Support
- Support ARC-related programs and pre-/post-event and project support for Cascadia Student Life, Activities and Recreation Center, and UW Bothell Student Engagement and Activities programming.
- General support for the operations of the building, including scheduling, marketing, facility usage tracking, data entry, website updating, filing, etc.
- Management of the ARC checkout system, which includes locker keys, board games/activities, and more.
- Serve as a first responder when emergencies occur within the ARC.
- Provide superior customer service for the ARC, greet those who enter the facility, answer questions through; in person inquiry, and respond to phone calls and electronic communication.
- Provide information on upcoming events and programs, building services, hours of operation, building policies and procedures, UBW and CC campus amenities, etc.
- Answer patron concerns and/or direct them to the appropriate resource for assistance.
- Provide set-up and take-down support for ARC events and meetings (moving furniture, opening/closing partition walls, setting stages, setting up/taking down A/V equipment, etc.).
- Ensure that furniture and equipment are stored properly and inventoried after each event.
- Monitor ARC equipment and furniture, note wear and tear, and communicate with the AV Tech Specialist about needed maintenance.
- Provide general operations support for the ARC, including resetting public spaces after events, reconfiguring non-public spaces as needed, supporting Fitness Center furniture and equipment moves, etc.
- Currently enrolled student at Cascadia College or UW Bothell; taking a minimum of 6 credits
- In good academic and conduct/behavioral standing
- Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
- Displays leaderships skills and or has been in a previous leadership role
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Capacity to adhere to a variable work schedule with some morning/late night/weekend hours and be accountable for all assigned shifts.
- Employment for this role will begin September 2026
- Some training will take place Fall of 2026
- To be considered for this position, applicants must be available to attend Fall Training in September 2026.
- Student employees are staffed throughout the entire day. Shifts may include early morning, evening and weekend hours.
- Attendance at all staff trainings and quarterly meetings are required.
- ARC staff must not exceed 19 hours a week during the academic year, options for additional hours during summer and breaks.
- ARC staff will be required to obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED certification. This will be provided by the ARC if hired.
