Location: Southlake TX (Hybrid - M, W & Th in office)
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:
1) Gather performance testing requirements.
2) Create performance test plans.
3) Develop and maintain performance test scripts - Unix shell scripts, Python and in-house Java based tools.
4) Execute performance tests and monitor.
5) Performance tuning and engineering activities on Java based app.
6) Interact with the project owners and stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate project's progress and present the findings and results. Document performance metrics, key findings, SLAs, KPIs and project status.
7) Maintain and update performance test suite, scripts, and data for each app release.


Responsibilities:
- Executing performance tests to simulate workload in market available tools like JMeter / Loadrunner (or similar), analyze test results and identify performance issues, memory leaks, throughput and capacity issues and errors.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to debug application and server errors, logs.
- Analyze Java threaddumps, heapdumps and GC logs to identify bottlenecks.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude and passion for learning new technologies.
- Developing Java / Python / Unix Shell scripts.
- Effective verbal and written communication.


Requirements:
- BS or above in Computer Science/related
- Expert knowledge of performance testing, engineering, monitoring and diagnostic tools(Splunk/AppDynamics/Grafana-Telegraph-Graphite preferred).
- Ability to understand business requirements, define performance test strategy, and design tests to identify potential bottlenecks in the application.
- Experience in setting up performance test environments for the project needs.
- Strong understanding of SLAs and KPIs used in Performance Engineering.
- Network knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, Load balancer etc.)
- Knowledge of Linux OS, SQL, application servers.
- Proficiency in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environment.
- 3+ years of strong experience in high-throughput and low-latency real time systems.
- 2 years of distributed software development experience using Java or developing Python/Shell scripts (must).
- Experience in the brokerage industry/Financial Industry (a plus).
- Experience in working with cloud-based computing machines (AWS/GoogleCloud or similar) is a plus.
