Human Resources Manager

Overview

Community Health Partnership of Illinois(CHP) is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Manager to lead core HR functions and support a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace. In this role, you will partner with leaders and team members across the organization to strengthen employee experience, manage the recruitment and onboarding needs, support business goals, and ensure consistent application of HR practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with organizational goals.

• Supervise one HR Specialist
• Oversee employee relations, performance management, and workplace communication.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning efforts.
• Manage compensation, benefits administration, and related employee inquiries.
• Collaborate with CHP's outsourced PEO HR firm on HR matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Lead investigations and resolve employee concerns with professionalism and discretion.
• Partner with managers to coach and develop talent, address performance issues, and support team effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and documentation.
• Support training and development initiatives to build organizational capability.
• Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement efforts across the employee lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• SHRM certified
• Several years of progressive experience in human resources, including leadership or management responsibility. five years or more preferred
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Experience handling employee relations matters, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships with employees and leadership.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with HR systems, reporting tools, and standard business software.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting organizational change, employee engagement, or culture initiatives.
• Knowledge of compensation, benefits, and total rewards practices.
• Experience with talent development, succession planning, or learning programs.
• Certification in human resources, such as SHRM or HRCI, is a plus.
