Caregiver Dementia Care

Caregiver Position

United Home Care is seeking compassionate, patient, and experienced caregivers to support a returning client living with dementia. The schedule may include either 24/7 care with rotating caregivers or daytime shifts only, depending on the client's final care plan. This role is ideal for caregivers who are calm under pressure, skilled in dementia care, and passionate about helping seniors remain safe and comfortable in their own home.

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate one-on-one care in the client's home.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
• Offer companionship and meaningful engagement throughout the day.
• Provide frequent redirection, reassurance, and supervision to help manage confusion and reduce anxiety.
• Monitor changes in the client's condition and communicate concerns with the care team.
• Assist with meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and transportation as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 12 years of hands-on dementia or Alzheimer's care experience required.
• Experience managing confusion, memory loss, sundowning, and behaviors associated with dementia.
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Ability to provide compassionate care while preserving the client's dignity and independence.
• Current HCA registration (or willingness to obtain), negative TB test, and reliable transportation preferred.
