Lead Business Analyst

ScolerTec Inc. has multiple openings for Lead Business Analysts to support the modernization of enterprise-class software applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading Business Analysts across multiple Agile Scrum teams, managing product backlogs, gathering and documenting requirements, and collaborating with product owners, technical teams, customers, and stakeholders. The Lead Business Analyst will work as part of an Agile development team supporting a major Modernization initiative. This role will provide leadership to Business Analysts, guide backlog decomposition, facilitate business-process analysis, and ensure requirements align with customer expectations, project scope, and business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead Business Analysts across multiple Scrum teams to build and maintain the product backlog and support business objectives. Own the backlog-decomposition strategy and ensure consistent implementation across the product backlog. Take ownership of the product backlog for the entire product scope. Work closely with customers to ensure alignment with expectations while maintaining control of scope. Maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog with work items ready for at least four upcoming sprints. Establish and enforce the Definition of Ready and Definition of Done across development teams. Provide transparency throughout backlog decomposition using metrics and automated dashboards. Lead Program Increment planning and provide guidance on deliverables, dependencies, milestones, timelines, and sequencing. Work with Business Analysts and Product Owners to resolve impediments and clarify requirements with customers. Conduct retrospectives and Communities of Practice meetings with Business Analysts to gather feedback, identify improvements, and cross-train staff. Identify opportunities to improve end-to-end processes, product quality, requirements alignment, and customer satisfaction. Proactively identify and manage risks, develop mitigation plans, and follow issues through resolution. Collaborate with architects, testers, Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with deliverables. Generate contractual deliverables in accordance with required scope and timelines. Support end-user interviews and customer-journey mapping by documenting input in required templates. Develop business-process maps using Microsoft Visio, including process and subprocess flows. Develop narratives that accompany process flows and describe activities and the business and technical data exchanged. Facilitate process-mapping and analysis sessions with project teams and customer stakeholders. Analyze opportunities for standardization and required variations across business units, rules, and local requirements. Present process-analysis results to project teams and customer stakeholders. Maintain process maps and narratives in an accessible hierarchical structure. Deliver journey-mapping strategies, process-analysis results, and customer-interview findings through Agile ceremonies and project reports. Qualifications: 10+ years of experience supporting product owners and Agile teams, eliciting business needs, maintaining backlog user stories, writing technical documentation, and modeling business processes and system requirements. Experience assisting with testing by writing acceptance criteria and validating test-case results. Experience producing current and relevant requirements, appropriately sizing user stories, and removing roadblocks before sprint execution. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience may be considered in place of the specified degree as follows: High school diploma with 16+ years of relevant experience. Associate degree with 14+ years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience. Doctorate or Ph.D. with 9+ years of relevant experience. Must Have: Experience leading and providing guidance to multiple Business Analysts and development teams. Experience gathering and assembling requirements by consulting with Product Owners, customers, stakeholders, and end users. Experience developing requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria. Experience assisting Product Owners and team leads with product scope, vision, and roadmaps. Experience providing system analysis and subject-matter expertise for issues and defects. Experience conducting business-process analysis, workflow analysis, and business-process re-engineering. Experience supporting legacy-system integration and deployment. Experience developing requirements for modernization and new-development projects. Experience conducting gap analysis, workflow analysis, Analysis of Alternatives, business-process modeling, wireframes, and storyboards. Experience delivering technical briefings and facilitating meetings for diverse audiences. Strong technical background and experience working with solution architects and senior development team members. Hands-on experience with progressive elaboration of highly technical epics and user stories. Experience managing product backlogs, dependencies, risks, milestones, and delivery sequencing. Experience with Agile Scrum practices, backlog refinement, Program Increment planning, and requirements traceability. Experience developing process maps and narratives using Microsoft Visio or a similar tool. Experience supporting testing by developing acceptance criteria and reviewing test results. Communication & Organizational Skills: Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills. Consultant mindset with the ability to work with senior customer stakeholders and build strong customer relationships. Experience identifying and applying industry tools, solutions, methods, best practices, and emerging technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement. Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Strong leadership, organization, stakeholder-management, and meeting-facilitation skills.
