What you’ll do Serve as a key technical resource for PVD coating operations—developing, planning, mentoring, and coaching across all steps in producing surface-engineered solutions. Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to optimize throughput, yield, quality, and flow in line with business needs. Partner with Plant Management to develop applications and scale up major programs. Apply statistical methods to strengthen process capability; lead failure analysis to determine true root causes using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys. Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to drive continuous improvement. Maintain the Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2015 and

ISO 13485

:2016; train plant personnel on related procedures and work instructions. Advance Lean Manufacturing on the floor, including 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping. Handle other related duties as needed. What you bring Bachelor’s in Engineering, Materials Science/Metallurgy, or Plasma Physics. 3+ years in vacuum coating with a focus on thin‑film coatings; hands‑on experience with PVD/PACVD systems. Familiarity with ISO quality standards and APQP, including PFMEA and Control Plans. Strong problem‑solving using 8D, Fishbone, and Five Whys. Mechanical design proficiency and competence with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools. Experience leading small to medium projects; excellent written and verbal communication. High attention to detail, strong organization, a collaborative mindset, and a strong work ethic. Ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally (approximately 10%).
