Job Opportunity – Emergency Department RN (Oncology Pod) – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day/night rotation or nights only; patient ratio 1:4; floating required as needed

Highlights:

• Specialized Oncology Pod within a high-acuity Emergency Department setting – one of the few dedicated oncology emergency care units in the country
• Work with a complex, urgent patient population requiring specialized cancer care in an emergency medicine environment
• 15-room, 19-bed unit designed specifically to meet the unique needs of oncology patients
• Epic charting system; comprehensive orientation provided (76 hours)
• 14-week contract with potential for up to 7 consecutive days off (subject to facility approval)
• Interdisciplinary team support including interpretation services

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Epic experience required
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, emergency medications, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, IV vasopressors, 12-lead EKG, phlebotomy, sickle cell crisis management, triage
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• 2 professional references required: at least one must be from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference

Additional Information:

Compliance & Credentialing: Strict compliance deadline of the Tuesday prior to start date. Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing. Candidates unresponsive to credentialing requirements risk contract delays or cancellation.

Time Off Requests: Must be submitted at time of application and built into contract.

Parking: Multiple parking permit options available for purchase through campus parking services, ranging from shuttle-accessible lots to on-site garage access. Monthly and annual options available; costs range from approximately $196-$749 depending on location and access level.

Eligibility: Former employees eligible after 6 months separation. Current employees at this health system are not eligible. Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers.
