About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Observation Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in ER and ER Holding (MS/Tele preferred) License: Must have valid compact or state nursing license Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS PALS Must-Have: Experience in accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients. Familiarity with telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Description: The role involves working in the Emergency Department Observation unit. Candidates must have experience with pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Daily census for the unit consists of 32 patients. A patient ratio of 4:1 is expected during all shifts. Candidates must be able to manage various medical procedures, including but not limited to chest tube management and procedural sedation. Experience with rapid response teams and care of patients with chronic illnesses required. Knowledge of IV management and hemodialysis preparation is also essential. This position requires effective communication with interdisciplinary support teams, such as respiratory services and social services. The ideal candidate should have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing may face cancellations on assignments. References are required from previous supervisors or formal leaders. Ideal candidates will have completed their education through an accredited nursing program.
