Description

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN with at least 2 years of ED experience and current Oregon RN licensure for a 13-week evening/night contract at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care, teaching hospital
• 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio in a combined adult/pediatric ED setting
• Evening (3x12, 1500-0330) and night (3x12, 1900-0730) variable shift schedule
• Every other weekend required, with possible back-to-back weekend requests
• Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set and facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license (or Compact RN license) required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP and PALS preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Blood product administration and central line care/management experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and triage required
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across general, trauma, and pediatric ED settings within a Level II Trauma Center
• May be required to float between sister facilities in the region based on staffing needs
• Scrubs provided for ED staff; any color scrub accepted otherwise
• No parking fee at the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for post-offer schedule changes
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
