Charge Nurse

Role Summary: The Charge Nurse in the Medsurg Oncology Unit oversees daily unit operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. They lead interdisciplinary teams, coordinate staffing, assign patients, and manage unit flow. The role involves monitoring equipment, planning resources, and supporting clinical protocols to optimize outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate patient care quality through daily rounds and oversee the nursing process, ensuring individualized, evidence-based care. Facilitate effective communication among staff, patients, and families, promoting patient-centered care. Collaborate with physicians and care teams, participate in performance improvement activities, and support documentation accuracy. Lead staffing, discharge planning, and bed management, including managing emergencies and resource allocation. Serve as a clinical resource, mentor team members, and foster a respectful, inclusive environment. Qualifications & Skills: Licensed registered nurse with a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2+ years preferred. Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred. Strong clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills. Proficient in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and team collaboration.
