Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a proactive approach to patient care, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex medical situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including those with active oncology diagnoses and other medical conditions.
• Monitor patient conditions, conduct assessments, and implement care plans.
• Administer medications, including IV insulin protocols and insulin drips.
• Utilize telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills to interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and support staff.
• Maintain patient safety and follow infection control protocols.
• Float between designated units as required by operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• Knowledge of IV insulin protocols and ability to manage insulin drips is essential.
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation are necessary.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though profiles with only 1 year of experience will be reviewed before consideration for an offer.

Work Schedule

This position offers a night shift schedule, requiring work three 12-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend commitment.

Additional Information

The working environment requires access to a corrections unit, where patients consist of individuals in the care of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. The unit is secured and requires entry under supervision.
