Coordinates materials, supplies and, as needed, additional personnel, and performs skilled installation, inspection, testing, preventive maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, boiler, fire detection, mechanical and HVAC systems at Community Hospital. Performs basic carpentry, painting and general maintenance activities on the building and on equipment.

Responsibilities include: Gathering necessary information and coordinating projects relating to Community Hospital facility/equipment repairs and improvements. Performing installation, maintenance and repairs on Community Hospital facility, equipment and systems, as needed, and as determined competent to include, but not limited to: Installing or making repairs on pumps, engines, motors, conveyor systems and laboratory equipment, Performing general maintenance such as painting, adding chemicals to boiler, changing gas tanks, refueling vehicles, patching holes, fixing leaky fixtures, unclogging commodes, and changing filters, belts, locks, ballast, light bulbs and ceiling tiles, Installing, inspecting and testing fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems, Performing basic carpentry such as putting up sheet rock and shelving, Assisting licensed maintenance mechanics with, and/or performing, repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boiler, pneumatic, irrigation, sprinkler and sterilizing systems. Performing preventive maintenance, inspections and instrument readings on equipment, machines, systems and facility, as assigned, and as determined competent. Providing for the safety of self and others. Promoting positive relations. Using and maintaining equipment, tools, materials and supplies. Documenting work actions and providing support for administrative functions to include, but not limited to: Maintaining logs, records and reports pertaining to work orders and actions, Participating in monitoring inventories of parts, supplies and chemicals, Estimating material requirements necessary for supplies and equipment, Obtaining prices and ordering parts. As needed, providing technical instruction to other or new employees. Performing other duties, as needed to include, but not limited to: Moving furniture, file cabinets, etc., Cleaning equipment room or other areas, Picking up trash, Cleaning roof tops and roof drains.

Education Requirements: High school graduate or GED. Licensure/Certifications: Licensed in respective trade by State Department of Labor. Professional Experience Requirements: 2 years' experience in selected trade in a commercial setting.
