Job Overview
Conducts chemistry testing of moderate complexity for the purposes of product release and stability testing. Supports these activities with the necessary preparation, quality assurance, calibration and documentation. Works independently or cooperatively on other tasks as required.

Responsibilities and Duties
o Cleans lab supplies and glassware
o Operates pH meter
o Operates viscometer
o Performs wet bench chemistry
o Assists with the removal and disposal of waste chemicals
o Prepares standards, reagents, and mobile phases for chemical analyses
o Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
o Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
o Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
o Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
o Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
o Perform other duties as required

Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience:
o BS in STEM degree preferred, not required
o High school degree with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 1 year laboratory experience, AS degree in a scientific discipline with 1 year laboratory experience, or BS degree in a scientific discipline
o Experience in Chemistry lab preferred
o Experience with GLP, GDP, and GMP preferred

Basic Skills:
o Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
o Must be detail-oriented
o Strong time management skills required
Proficient/Working Skills:
o Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
o Proficiency in MS Excel is required
