(CPT) Certified Phlebotomist I, Per Diem

Job Overview This is a part‑time appointment. The role involves specimen processing, accessioning, phlebotomy, heel and finger sticks, customer service, clerical duties, effective communication with laboratory customers, problem resolution, record keeping, supply inventory and maintenance, cleaning and maintaining a safe work environment. Additional duties include operation of instruments, preventative maintenance, and performing all duties in line with laboratory safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform specimen processing, accessioning, phlebotomy, heel and finger sticks. Provide customer service and effective communication with laboratory customers. Resolve problems, keep accurate records, manage supply inventory, and maintain work environment. Operate laboratory instruments and perform preventative maintenance. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated knowledge of Hospital Isolation and Infection Control protocols, patient comfort/safety, and medical terminology. Thorough knowledge of laboratory regulations, laws, and ethical requirements. Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) required. BART or BLS at hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months. Minimum 2 years experience as a Certified Phlebotomist. Basic collection and specimen preparation, storage, and disposal skills. Epic and/or SoftID experience. Two (2) years hospital experience. Customer service experience. One to two years experience with hospital automation. Experience with specimen processing and high-volume lab. Ability to work various hours and locations. Employment subject to criminal background check. Compensation Annual Full Pay Range: $63,246 – $63,246 (pro‑rated if appointment Hourly Equivalent: $30.29 – $30.29.
