Food Safety Quality Manager (Onsite)

Yoh is hiring a Food Safety Quality Manager (Onsite) for our Food and Beverage client in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Quality Manager helps establish and enforce processes that fall within the safe food handling guidelines. Trains and follows up with the production teams to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are followed. Job Responsibilities: Assist in developing key processes which drive food safety, process consistency and product quality Monitor the food safety and product quality processes. Train, educate, coach and mentor production leads and operators in key food safety and quality processes and requirements. Provide expertise, guidance and leadership regarding Regulatory compliance at the plant level Act as a primary liaison to corporate Quality Assurance and outside Regulatory agencies (i.e. USDA, FDA, OSHA, and Utah Department of Agriculture). Acts as primary liaison for customer quality concerns/complaint issues Manage the contracted food safety prerequisites (e.g., pest control, water management, lubricant, and chemical safety). Knowledge and experience in data collection, record keeping, documentation, and implementation required for all quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SOPs, OSHA, allergens, sanitation, microbiological testing, ingredients, vendor certification/approval, inbound and outbound inspections, product traceability, raw and finished product inspection, GMO, MSDS, and food safety training). Audits and submits corrective actions to operations for compliance to regulations Ensures highly disciplined compliance with all product and process quality standards including, product quality evaluation, formulations, procedures, programs and systems including hold and release, recall and foreign material contamination guidelines and resolutions. Oversee the sanitation program to ensure compliance with GMPs, SSOPs, SQF, FDA, and internal food safety requirements. Develop, approve, and maintain sanitation procedures, master cleaning schedules, and related documentation. Verify execution and effectiveness of routine, non-routine, allergen, and corrective sanitation activities through inspections and sanitation verification methods. Ensure proper control, use, storage, and documentation of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals. Train and monitor sanitation and applicable production personnel on sanitation practices, chemical handling, and food safety expectations. Investigate sanitation-related deviations or environmental findings, implement CAPAs, and trend results for continuous improvement. Coordinate sanitation activities with production, maintenance, and pest control programs to support food safety and operational efficiency. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree of Food Science or a related field or equivalent experience (6+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment) 2+ years of FSQA Management experience in a food manufacturing environment Understanding of microbiology and food science Knowledge and experience with USDA, FDA, OSHA, HACCP regulations Experience with Gluten Free regulation #IND-SPG Estimated Min Rate : $100000.00 Estimated Max Rate : $110000.00 What’s In It for You?
