Fabrication Manufacturing Production Supervisor The Fabrication Production Supervisor is a hands‑on, floor‑present leadership role. Reporting directly to the Fabrication Manufacturing Production Manager, you will oversee shift‑level fabrication operations supporting Torus’s Flywheel Energy Storage Systems (FESS) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role requires a technically astute leader with deep roots in a metal manufacturing environment, capable of troubleshooting machinery, guiding operators, and ensuring maximum precision and throughput across advanced sheet metal and plate fabrication equipment. Who You Are A Metal Manufacturing Expert – deep, practical roots in high‑precision metal fabrication, laser cutting, and forming environments. Hands‑on & Floor‑Present – lead from the production floor, stand side‑by‑side with your team to solve technical issues. Safety‑First Leader – uphold safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe workplace. A Coach & Mentor – cross‑train personnel and elevate the technical skills of your team. Responsibilities Production Execution: Oversee daily fabrication activities to meet output targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules. Technical Equipment Oversight: Serve as the primary floor resource for key production machinery (e.g., BLM Group ADIGE Laser Tube LT7, BLM Group Pro Bend E‑Series, Prima Power Express Bender, etc.). Managing & Developing Staff: Lead, mentor, onboard, and evaluate a team of fabrication technicians and CNC operators. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA and Engineering to ensure components meet tight tolerances and GD&T requirements. Safety & Compliance: Champion a safety culture, enforce OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and machine safeguarding. Continuous Improvement: Apply lean principles to reduce scrap, optimize material nesting, and improve cycle times. Required Experience Education: High school diploma/GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field is a plus. Experience: 3+ years in heavy metal manufacturing or fabrication, with supervisory or team‑lead experience. Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC laser cutting and precision forming equipment (manual press brakes, automatic panel benders). Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T. Systems: Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and basic digital workspaces. Safety: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety best practices. Preferred Experience Direct programming or operational experience with BLM Group or Prima Power machinery. Experience in energy storage, heavy industrial equipment, automotive, or aerospace manufacturing. Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or similar continuous improvement certification. Location + Travel The role is based in our Salt Lake Headquarters GigaOne Warehouse (air‑conditioned) and may include work at our South Salt Lake Facility. Schedule Full‑time, hourly – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Shift flexibility may be required. Compensation $40–$50 per hour (pay level can vary with experience). Work Authorization Applicants must already have legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Physical Requirements Lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. Stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Read, identify, and recognize detailed engineering drawings. Wear personal protective equipment (respiratory gear, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection, helmet). Detect and respond to machine malfunction warnings. Communicate information clearly.
