Senior Accountant

New Tech Global is currently seeking a Sr. Accountant for an Oil and Glass client in Houston, TX 77032 area. This is a contract to hire role offering a hourly rate of $50 per hour.
The Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial analysis functions to support accurate financial reporting and business operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing complex accounting transactions, researching discrepancies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives.

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries for complex accounting transactions.

• Analyze financial data and prepare detailed accounting reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.

• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, issues, and exceptions while maintaining compliance with internal controls.

• Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly financial results, including variance analysis and supporting explanations.

• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting activities.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Support the maintenance and improvement of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial and operational projects.

• Develop project management skills while contributing to departmental and organizational initiatives.

• Utilize financial systems and reporting tools to support accounting operations and decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.

• Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.

• Experience with financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and account reconciliations.

• Understanding of internal controls and accounting best practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software applications.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

• Experience working in a complex corporate or multi-entity environment.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
