Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of combined adult/pediatric emergency department experience and a WI or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a combined adult/pediatric General Emergency Department
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 1830 to 0700
• Weekend rotation required with every other holiday coverage
• Floating required as needed
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Free onsite parking available

Requirements

• Active WI RN or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only required); NIHSS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Triage and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Arterial line management, blood product administration, and procedural sedation skills preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across the full spectrum of adult and pediatric patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response interventions
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Travel pairs not accepted for this assignment
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and a passing score of 80% or higher, with up to three attempts allowed
• References are not required for consideration
