What You'll Do

• Provide critical care to adult surgical and medical ICU patients
• Manage ventilators, assist with intubation, and extubation procedures
• Monitor and manage vasoactive drips, CVLs, EVD drains, and arterial lines
• Administer medications via IV, including titration and vasoactive drugs
• Support patients with neurological conditions, including stroke and traumatic brain injury
• Care for patients with cardiac issues, including post-CABG (experience preferred)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RT, phlebotomy, and charge nurses
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR

What You Need

• Required:
  • Active RN license in Louisiana
  • 2+ years ICU experience, including ventilator management and stroke care
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Preferred:
  • Experience with open-heart surgery (post-CABG) patients
  • Experience in neuro-critical care and ventilator management
  • Ability to float to PCU or MedSurg units when needed

About the Assignment

Join a leading facility in Shreveport, LA, providing adult ICU care with a focus on acute respiratory, neurological, and cardiac emergencies. The ICU unit operates with a patient census averaging 16 patients per day and maintains a patient ratio of 1:2. You will support a team of charge RNs, nurses, CNA, and specialists in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Orientation includes two shifts of unit training, and the unit culture emphasizes quality care and teamwork.
