Join Our Traveling Physical Therapist Team!

Are you seeking a new adventure while making a difference in people's lives? Become part of our traveling Physical Therapist team in Alpena, MI, where you will provide outpatient rehabilitation services in various environments. In this position, you will:

• Assess patient functionality and create tailored treatment plans.
• Document and track progress towards specific goals.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on treatment processes.
• Delegate responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and aides.
• Evaluate skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular health to develop personalized care strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution recognized by the APTA.
• An active Physical Therapist license in Michigan is mandatory before starting. Documentation from LARA and/or Nursys must confirm this.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Recent work history and skills checklist for Physical Therapy, updated within the last year (required documentation).
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the past two years (required documentation).
• Experience in evaluating and treating adult outpatient populations; acute care experience is highly desirable.
• Pediatric experience is a plus; candidates uncomfortable with pediatric patients will not be assigned to them.
• Ability to work collaboratively with PT Assistants and aides, including co-signing verbal orders when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in outpatient rehabilitation travel roles.
• Proven ability to utilize both formal and informal testing methods and to create frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible to work 8 to 10 hour days).
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
• Weekend commitment: One Sunday each month.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from their permanent address; local applicants within 50 miles will not be considered.
