🛠️ Database Administrator Responsibilities Perform comprehensive database administration, implementation, and maintenance tasks across development, test, and production environments.Enforce and maintain strict standards for database naming, creation, and deletion—particularly in Test and Production systems.Design, monitor, and optimize database maintenance routines, including statistics updates, indexing, and backup processes.Implement and enforce appropriate database security policies and access controls.Troubleshoot and resolve database-related application issues in a timely and efficient manner.Ensure 24/7 availability and performance of mission-critical databases, including participation in an on-call rotation.Optimize hardware and system resources to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.Collaborate with application developers to provide guidance on performance tuning, query optimization, and best practices in DBMS usage.Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks, capacity limitations, and data integrity issues.Manage full backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and minimal data loss.Develop, document, and regularly test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.Continuously monitor databases for errors or unusual activity, and conduct root cause analysis when issues arise.
