Project Manager Summerset Marine Construction – Whitewater, Wisconsin, United States About This Position About Summerset Marine Construction Summerset Marine Construction has been providing a full range of lakefront services to its customers in southeastern Wisconsin since 1990. As the largest pier and lift dealer in Wisconsin, Summerset has grown over the years along with its customers’ needs, providing the expertise and products necessary for the perfect waterfront solution. Servicing hundreds of clients from Madison to Milwaukee, Summerset Marine delivers the highest level of expertise to design, install, and support any pier and boat lift system. About the Role The Project Manager is responsible for leading construction projects through completion while managing internal team performance and customer expectations. This role requires effective oversight of foremen and field staff, proactive client communication, and accountability for delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager forecasts and allocates resources, maintains project schedules, and coordinates stakeholders. On‑site monitoring, quick resolution of operational challenges, and independent decision‑making keep projects on track. The position optimizes workflows, ensures safe use of equipment, and delivers successful outcomes on time and within budget. What You'll Do Strategically forecast and manage resources to meet project objectives efficiently. Lead and supervise foremen and laborers to ensure timely and accurate project execution. Maintain proactive communication with customers, providing regular updates on timelines and progress. Facilitate smooth operations through deep knowledge of construction site processes. Develop and oversee comprehensive project schedules and work plans. Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including strategy, adjustments, and progress. Adhere to industry‑leading practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution. Analyze diagrams to accurately determine structural dimensions. Continuously monitor progress and adapt plans as necessary. Work on water when required. Ensure safe transportation and handling of all company equipment. Promptly communicate job status and completed work to the office for billing. Exercise independent decision‑making and prioritization to improve operational efficiency. Evaluate project performance to identify areas for enhancement. Undertake additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field. 1‑2 years of relevant experience (preferred). Proficient in project management best practices. Experience overseeing projects from conception to completion. Strong verbal communication and analytical skills. Ability to interpret blueprints and operate power tools proficiently.
