INPATIENT THERAPIST (LICENSED) -PRN

Responsibilities Inpatient Therapist – PRN West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over four decades. Our 176‑bed acute‑care facility is fully accredited and includes a 16‑bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults, including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care. The hospital is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist with treatment options and insurance coverage. West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dedicated therapist to join our team of compassionate professionals. The Inpatient Therapist will provide direct care to patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions in an acute setting, collaborating with the patient, family/support, multidisciplinary team, outside providers and community agencies to support and coordinate treatment and discharge planning. The therapist will work with adult, adolescent, child and geriatric patients. Job Duties/Responsibilities Complete psychosocial assessments, treatment plan reviews, individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy sessions within established timeframes either face‑to‑face or telephonically with all patients, families and significant others. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team—including physicians, RNs, care managers and other healthcare team members—in crisis intervention; create behavioral plans, case conferences, client‑centered interventions and discharge planning. Conduct assigned therapeutic groups and provide comprehensive education, instructions, advocacy information designed to assist patients and significant others in identifying and securing needed health‑care follow‑up services. Qualifications Education Required: Master’s Degree in Human Services related field. Preferred: Master’s in Social Work. Licensure: LPC, LPC‑A, LMFT or LMSW. CPR and hospital de‑escalation certifications. Experience Required: One to three years of clinical experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
