Senior Project Manager– Pharmaceutical Capital Projects

Summary:  Our client is a global leader in life sciences seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead pharmaceutical capital projects in regulated GMP environments. Will support the Site Sterility Assurance Program (SAR), a multi-year capital program focused on EU Annex 1 compliance, aseptic manufacturing improvements, facility upgrades, commissioning, qualification, and project execution through completion.  

Will lead the overall project engineering workstreams associated with the SAR Program and serve as the primary project management. Accountable for coordinating project scopes, aligning design management, construction management, commissioning, qualification, validation, schedule, cost, documentation, risk, and stakeholder communication activities across the program.

Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage assigned Project Engineering workstreams for Tier 2 and Tier 3 capital projects
• Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, discipline leads, A&E (architecture & engineering) partners, Construction Management groups, CQV/CSV teams, vendors, and client SMEs.
• Manage design reviews, project execution planning, GxP assessments, User Requirement Briefs, deliverable trackers, commissioning and qualification deliverables, and project closeout activities.
• Develop and maintain visibility to program scope, schedule, cost, change control, risks, issues, decisions, and escalation items.
• Drive timely completion of project deliverables while ensuring compliance with applicable GMP requirements, client standards, SOPs, quality systems, safety expectations, and regulatory commitments.
• Prepare and support weekly and monthly reporting, including schedule progress, cost status, PCRs, deliverables completed, risks, issues, concerns, escalations, and progress documentation.
• Coordinate resources across multiple project scopes, including cleanroom upgrades, HVAC improvements, MAL/PAL modifications, aseptic processing improvements, sterile filtration, CCIT, washroom expansion, and Annex 1 remediation work.

Qualifications :

• 10+ years project management experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated GMP manufacturing environments
• Proven experience in design management, commissioning, qualification, validation, capital project execution, and cross-functional stakeholder leadership.
• Experience within a large pharmaceutical or life sciences network is preferred; candidates without such experience must provide relevant references demonstrating similar scope and performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
