Position Summary: Purchases supplies and equipment for hospital departments and the Storeroom/CS inventory.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Orders requested products from vendors; communicates order status to requesting departments.
• Coordinates with the CPO buyers for final purchase order numbers.
• Monitors backorders and obtains substitutes from other sources in emergency situations.
• Monitors requests for contract compliance, pricing and reduced or free freight.
• Maintains computer files with updated information.
• Assists with vendor program and visitation compliance.

Qualifications:

• Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:
• High School Diploma or GED desired.
• Previous hospital or supply experience preferred
• Physical and Sensory Requirements:
• Ability to read, write and converse in English
• Ability to communicate with staff, support agencies, vendors and others
• Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress
• Ability to tolerate prolonged standing and sitting
• Ability to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation
• Ability to discriminate color
• Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
• Bending, lifting (0-50 pounds), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling (up to 100 pounds) and squatting
