Client Relationship Executive (Renewables) Opportunity ID 9604 Department Practice Management Location: Bethesda, Maryland Function: Sales and Business Development The renewal of growth opportunities at CohnReznick has led to the creation of a Director-level Sales Executive role – the Renewables Client Relationship Executive (CRE). This executive will act as a growth architect for the firm’s largest and most strategic renewable energy opportunities, partnering with Sales Leadership, Practice Leaders, Office Managing Partners, Inside Sales, Marketing, and delivery teams to drive sustained growth and deep, executive relationships. Your Role As the CRE, you will have overall accountability for the firm’s biggest and most complex growth opportunities. The role focuses on top‑tier client acquisition and enterprise pursuit execution rather than ongoing account management. Responsibilities Own and pursue a select portfolio of enterprise‑scale renewable energy targets, including the firm’s most complex and high‑value pursuits. Own and execute multi‑year business plans tied to defined revenue goals. Architect and optimize a high‑concentration target ecosystem focused on large‑scale developers, owners, operators, and investors across the renewables value chain. Build, scale, and manage sophisticated Centers of Influence (COIs), including referral sources relevant to the renewables ecosystem. Drive cross‑firm collaboration to deliver integrated, multi‑service solutions. Lead long‑cycle, multi‑stakeholder pursuits involving complex ownership structures, regulatory considerations, and multi‑service delivery models. Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑Suite and board‑level target and client contacts. Mentor and coach Senior Manager and Manager‑level CREs; support succession and growth planning discussions. Ensure strong pipeline coverage, forecasting accuracy, and CRM discipline at scale. Represent the firm externally at industry events, conferences, and executive forums. Revenue Accountability Assigned the highest revenue target levels within the CRE role structure. Expected pipeline coverage typically 3× revenue target. Must demonstrate consistent quota achievement or over‑achievement for 3+ years. Your Experience 13+ years of experience in sales, client leadership, or professional services roles. Experience working with enterprise‑scale clients in the renewable energy industry, including large platforms, portfolios, or multi‑asset operators. Exposure to utility‑scale, distributed generation, or energy transition‑focused organizations is a plus. Proven success leading enterprise‑scale pursuits and expanding complex client relationships. Demonstrated ability to drive cross‑service expansion and long‑term value creation. Sustained history of achieving or exceeding revenue targets. Executive presence with the ability to influence C‑Suite and board‑level executives. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional, multi‑service teams. Advanced commercial, financial, and negotiation acumen. Experience mentoring senior sales professionals and developing future leaders. Expert level proficiency with CRM systems and forecasting disciplines (Dynamics or Salesforce preferred). Bachelor’s degree required; advanced or industry‑specific education preferred. Tools & Systems CRM platforms (Dynamics or Salesforce) Sales intelligence and research tools (SalesIntel, Introhive, Bombora, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) Power BI dashboards (basic to intermediate usage) Marketing and proposal tools Salary Range In Maryland, the salary range for a Director is $200,000 to $300,000, plus discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded parental benefits, and access to learning and development platforms.
