Project Manager (Monterey)

About the Role Mountain Cascade, Inc. (MCI) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the construction management efforts work on two pump station projects in Monterey County. This role is responsible for driving projects from initial planning through construction and closeout, ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements. The Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between the Customer/Owner, project participants, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities Includes other duties as needed. Project Planning & Initiation Meet with the Customer to develop a clear understanding of project goals, requirements, and expectations Assist in identifying and coordinating all Project Participants (consultants, contractors, internal teams) Develop and define project scope and facilitate stakeholder review and alignment Lead coordination meetings to confirm responsibilities, schedules, and participation Obtain Customer approval to initiate project activities including planning, design, and procurement Pre-Construction Coordination Ensure all elements of the Pre-Construction Checklist are completed and documented Verify purchase orders are processed for consultants, contractors, materials, and equipment Organize and lead Pre-Construction Meetings with all project participants Secure necessary approvals from primary stakeholders prior to construction start Project Execution & Management Coordinate the work of consultants, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle Track and manage project schedule, budget, and overall progress Communicate regularly with the Project Site Leader and Site Safety Planner regarding project status Identify, address, and resolve project conflicts, risks, and changes in coordination with the Customer Maintain consistent communication with the Customer to provide updates and ensure alignment Documentation & Contract Administration Establish and maintain a centralized project file and ensure timely and accurate documentation Ensure project records, files, and reports are properly maintained and accessible Provide contract administration and construction management support as required Support project closeout activities and documentation Other Essential Duties Proactively resolve team issues and elevate to management as needed Operate a motor vehicle to travel between multiple active construction sites within the same workday, often on short notice Transport project plans, tools, and job-related material to and from job sites, including locations where public transportation or ride‑hail services are impractical or unavailable Respond promptly to time‑sensitive field issues where delays would negatively impact safety, scheduling, or contractual obligations Access remote or undeveloped project sites that are not reachable by alternative transportation methods Qualifications 5‑7+ years of experience in construction project management Experience working for a contractor Experience working on heavy civil or water/wastewater infrastructure projects, preferably pump stations and sewer systems Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex project activities Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred Certifications & Licenses Valid driver’s license required OSHA 30 (preferred) First Aid/CPR certification (preferred) Physical Requirements Ability to work in active construction environments, including standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Regular exposure to construction sites, heavy equipment, and active work zones Occasional exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and temperature extremes #J-18808-Ljbffr
