Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage in Missouri with a defined clinic structure plus in house call and OR coverage. Ongoing need with temporary privileges available.

Practice Setting

• Inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic surgery practice, adult patients
• Rounding includes assigned and unassigned patients
• Average volume, 15 patients per day, about 5 phone consults per night, admissions vary
• Support staff provided for locum coverage, 2 RNs and 1 MA

Schedule

• Scheduled clinical hours Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Call with OR coverage during the week and weekend, 24 hour call
• Call type is in house plus pager coverage
• Call ratio 1:4 with 20 minute response requirement

Cases and Procedures

• General CV and thoracic surgery
• TAVR, CABG
• Vent management
• Open and endovascular vascular surgery; central and arterial lines, PA catheter placement

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Board certified in Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery
• Missouri license required, facility will wait for license with active IMLC LOQ
• ACLS and BLS
