Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR

Travel CVOR RN Opportunity

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois. The position requires a minimum of 3 years of OR experience and a broad range of cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical skills.

Job details:

• Work setting: CVOR in a 562-bed, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL
• 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:15 AM 4:45 PM
• Average daily census of 10 patients across 4 OR rooms
• 1:1 patient ratio
• On-call required: 12 nights per week and every 4th5th weekend, or as needed to meet departmental operational needs
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
• Charting via Cerner
• Scrubs are provided for this role
• Free parking available on-site (permit required, obtained during orientation)

Requirements:

• Active IL RN license required; must be active and in hand or in active application process
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (AHA or Red Cross accepted RQI cards not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of CVOR or major OR experience required
• CVOR and General OR work setting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Required cardiovascular skills: Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atrial Septal Defect (adult) repair, CABG, ECMO, Femoral Cannulation, IABP, LVAD, MAZE Procedure, Mitral valve replacement, PDA, Pericardial window, TAVR, Scrub Cardiovascular Surgery
• Required vascular skills: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Arteriovenous fistula repair, Atherectomy, Carotid Endarterectomy, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Femoral popliteal bypass graft, Scrub Vascular Surgery, Vein stripping
• Required thoracic skills: Laparoscopic assisted cases, Lobe resection, Mediastinoscopy, Thoracotomy, VATS, Scrub Thoracic Surgery
• Required endoscopic procedure skills: Bronchoscopy, EGD, PEG tube placement/exchange, Scrub Endoscopic Surgery
• Whipple procedure experience required
• Required professional knowledge: Laser Safety, Specimen Handling/Labeling, Universal Protocol (Time Out) Procedure
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional information:

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, endoscopic, and general surgical cases
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this OR RN position
• Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• RTO is ideally no more than 5 non-holiday days per contract
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Orientation begins with a virtual, at-home day on Day 1; all assigned modules must be completed by 4:00 PM CST on that day
