Engineering Manager

Engineering ManagerLaSalle Network is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering team for a well-established manufacturer of modular and custom retail displays. This role will drive optimization of product design, streamline processes, and ensure on-time, on-budget execution of custom and standard fixtures, while fostering cross-functional collaboration between Design, Production, Quality and Supply Chain.This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys mentoring a diverse team, translating customer requirements into manufacturable solutions and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a cross-functional Engineering team, including design engineers, estimators and project managersDrive optimization of custom and standard fixtures to meet client requirements and cost targetsOversee development and continuous improvement of the company's patented 3? pin-system product linesTranslate customer specifications into detailed, manufacturable engineering solutions, maintaining BOM accuracy and CAD/Vault data integrityCoordinate closely with Design/Sales, Production and Purchasing to ensure seamless handoff from concept to productionSupport new product introductions handed off from New Product DevelopmentFacilitate regular project reviews and status updates with senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks and resource needsEnsure fit, form and function, accurate tolerances, material selection, manufacturability, safety compliance and cost-effectiveness across all deliverablesWhat's Needed?Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Design, Engineering or a related field8+ years of engineering experience in wood, metal or mixed-materials manufacturing environmentsIn-depth knowledge of multiple materials (wood, metal, plastics, glass, composites) and fabrication processesAdvanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor & Vault)Hands-on experience creating and maintaining BOMs and ERP/PDM data structuresDemonstrated ability to mentor and train junior/design engineersProven track record leading fast-paced environments while balancing cost, quality and timelineStrong analytical skills to diagnose design/production issues and implement data-driven fixesExceptional verbal and written communication skills across cross-functional teamsConfident client-facing presence with ability to gather requirements and manage expectationsWillingness to travel up to 25%What's In It for Me?Leadership role with direct reports, reporting to the SVP of Engineering and New Product DevelopmentHealth savings account, disability and AD&D insuranceParental leave and tuition reimbursementOpportunity to shape a patented, industry-leading product lineKey DetailsCompensation : $120,000–$150,000 per yearBenefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, 401kLocation : Wood Dale, ILWork Model : OnsiteIf you're an engineering leader ready to make an impact on a patented, industry-leading product line, apply today!LaSalle Network is an Equal Opportunity Employer m/f/d/v.
