Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

Senior AccountantThis role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of C Spire's financial records and reporting. As a Senior Accountant, you will support core accounting functions including month-end close, accrual management, reconciliations, and financial analysis, while partnering cross-functionally to provide insight and maintain compliance with accounting standards. The level of responsibility, autonomy, and leadership will scale based on experience and demonstrated capability.Responsibilities include:Assist with month-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statementsManage accruals and prepaids, ensuring accurate recording and timely adjustmentsPrepare and post journal entries with complete and well-supported documentationPerform account reconciliations, investigating variances and resolving discrepanciesConduct departmental and operational analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiativesApply and maintain ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, including management of the revenue recognition subledgerEnsure compliance with internal accounting policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide insightsSupport internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentationMaintain and update accounting records, systems, and supporting schedulesContribute to special projects, system enhancements, and ad-hoc financial analysis as neededThis position is an exceptional opportunity to deepen expertise in corporate accounting and financial operations while working alongside experienced finance professionals.
