The Advanced Purchasing Buyer is responsible for the execution of all purchasing requirements in the product development process. They will be responsible for the procurement of various commodities including plastic parts, electronic parts and stampings.Essential FunctionsServe as the single point of contact for Purchasing/Supply Chain within the cross-functional program teamManage RFIs/RFQs process, quote analysis, and secure competitive pricing to maximize total value of ownershipManage and track purchasing milestones in alignment with the overall product development lifecycle (e.g., APQP, PPAP, and launch phases)Assess supplier capacity and manufacturing readiness to support pre-production builds, prototype phases, and ramp-up to volume productionAct as functional lead supporting a structured project development process, working in close collaboration with commodity buyersCoordinate the qualifications of new suppliersUtilize organization-wide purchasing policies and ensure complianceDevelop and maintain supplier performance metrics and systemsMaintain all required records of purchases, prices, and deliveriesServe as purchasing subject matter expert in areas related to changing material and commodity market conditionsCoordinate all purchasing activities with global purchasing organizationRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field. Technical or Supply Chain degree preferred5+ years related experience.
