Development Coordinator

Position: Development Coordinator The Development Coordinator supports the mission of United Way of El Paso County by providing administrative and organizational support to public and private sector employee workplace giving campaigns, overseeing donor management system, and supporting volunteer efforts. Major Duties & Responsibilities Campaigns – 35% Lead coordination of public sector workplace giving campaigns. Establish and maintain close professional relationships with volunteer leadership, committee members, and campaign coordinators. Prepare detailed campaign administration plans and budgets in accordance with applicable regulations. Assist in developing campaign structure, timetable, and promotional materials. Develop and conduct training for coordinators. Conduct campaign operations and implement awards programs. Maintain inventory of donor brochures, pledge forms, envelopes, and incentives. General Administrative Support For United Way Branded Campaigns Prepare donor materials for workplace campaigns and cultivation calls. Maintain positive working relationships with Employee Campaign Ambassadors. Schedule speakers, tours, rallies, and other activities; collect and follow‑up donor documentation; conduct presentations during campaign meetings and community presentations. Donor Data Management – 25% Lead stewardship of donor relationship management system. Maintain system expertise to support agency‑wide fundraising and donor relationship efforts. Serve as system super‑user and staff trainer. Ensure complete and accurate data for all prospects and donors. Document significant donor/prospect information, relationship activities, interactions, communications, solicitations, historical data, and other key details. Volunteerism – 30% Lead strategic direction and execution of all volunteer efforts, including VolunteerElPaso.org. Oversee and coordinate corporate engagement to foster relationships and encourage active donors. Maintain consistent communication with UWEPC‑funded agencies and track available volunteer opportunities. Work collaboratively with other United Way teams to provide support and create additional opportunities. Create proposals and execute UWEPC volunteer projects with external and internal stakeholders. Increase awareness of volunteerism and VolunteerElPaso.org in the community. Maintain and update VolunteerElPaso.org software and support local non‑profit organizations. Collect, organize, and report volunteer data including Global Results Framework indicators. Identify, recruit, train, retain, and advance volunteers. Philanthropy Support – 10% Collaborate to acknowledge donations received in a timely manner. Support fundraising efforts such as mailers, envelope stuffing, labeling, and folding. Qualifications – Knowledge, Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, social services, or related field. Five years of volunteer or work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the non‑profit sector is a plus. Background check required. Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and daily access to reliable vehicle. Flexible schedule with possibility of early morning, evening, weekend, or travel work. Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands for keyboard. Long hours in front of computer monitor. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. May travel using personal vehicle or work outside normal office environment. Reasonable accommodations available. Job Classification & Salary Non‑Exempt – Full Time. Salary range: $38,000 – $43,000.
