About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team. The successful candidate will be a key player in providing strategic legal support for the company's operations, particularly in the areas of commercial agreements, contract negotiation, and risk management. This role is pivotal in ensuring legal excellence during the company's rapid growth and innovation, with a focus on sustainability. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements related to finance, procurement, and project development. They will also be involved in ensuring compliance with various laws, advising on risk mitigation, and managing legal aspects of permitting and operational expansion. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, active bar membership, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial contract law, with a strong background in supporting corporate governance. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy industry, energy, natural resources, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive businesses. The role requires the ability to manage multiple complex legal projects and to coordinate with external counsel and regulatory agencies. While not mandatory, experience in an early-stage, fast-growing company, as well as a background in both BigLaw and in-house legal environments, is considered a plus. The Associate General Counsel will also be expected to conduct legal research and stay abreast of industry trends that may impact the company's operations.
