Job OverviewFairview is looking to hire a Linen Aide to join our team at Fairview Riverside University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. This position is approved for 56 hours every two weeks (0.7 FTE) and is benefit eligible. This is a day shift position and requires availability to work every other weekend. Duties include (but not limited to) filling linen carts and responding to order requests with clean linen items, delivery, and pickup of soiled linen, tracking linen usage daily using hospital's tracking system and performing other linen related duties as assignedResponsibilitiesPerforms all tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, facility staff and customersInspects and sorts linen as it is received from laundry; records and returns reject to laundryRemoves clean linen from laundry carts and places in designated areas. Loads carts for deliveryReplenishes linen according to established levels and/or utilizationMaintains log for linen closets, documents unused linen, and reports any apparent discrepancy between established standards and actual usageMaintains linen room in a clean and orderly conditionPerforms all other related and miscellaneous duties as requiredMakes certain that while delivering through the hospital, the clean linen is coveredTakes count of linen not used from previous deliveryCollect and load soiled linen into carts from soil collection areas in the facility and take it to designated pick-up areaMaintain records utilization information on tablet and/or paper. This includes counting linen not used from previous delivery and current linen in hospitalAbility to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, tablets, etc.)Must have basic ability to read and write in EnglishSkilled in developing effective rapport with customers, coworkers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connectionReports mechanical & equipment failures or negative conditions to appropriate supervisorRequired QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of basic math, human relations and effective communication requiredHigh school level ability to use technology, such as entering orders and utilization information into a computer, tablet, or other handheld deviceBenefit OverviewFairview offers a generous benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, PTO/vacation and Safe and Sick Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement and more!
