Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse – Cardiac Surgical ICU, Nights. In this role the successful candidate practices in accordance with the American Nurses Association’s (ANA) scope and standards of nursing practice, using clinical expertise to plan and deliver safe, therapeutic, population‑specific patient care. With patients and families central to the care, the RN incorporates their unique characteristics and needs into the care delivery process. The RN works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes, provides leadership by orienting, mentoring, and managing team members, and participates in performance improvement initiatives. Job Responsibilities Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues. Performs duties as assigned. Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner. Evaluates personal nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines. Collaborates with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting. Communicates effectively in various formats. Contributes to quality nursing practice. Integrates evidence and research findings into practice. Attains knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice. Practices ethically using the Code of Ethics for Nurses. Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes. Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Coordinates care delivery. Implements the identified plan. Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. Identifies expected outcomes for an individualized plan. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required for employees hired after 9/1/2020, with prior hires grandfathered). Current and valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse license. Current and valid BLS certification. Knowledge of standards of practice for all areas of patient care. Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills. 1–2 years of nursing experience.
