What You'll Do

• Prepare tissue specimens by embedding in paraffin and sectioning for microscopic examination
• Perform special procedures such as immunohistochemistry, special stains, and decalcified bone processing
• Maintain quality control and ensure proper documentation of QC activities
• Assist with special procedures, including sending out samples and packaging specimens
• Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and reagents
• Follow safety protocols and adapt practices to patient needs and organizational standards
• Support training and education of lab staff as needed

What You Need

• Active Histotechnologist (HTL) certification (ASCP)
• Louisiana Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (Specialist or Generalist)
• At least 2 years' experience in histology laboratory work
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Windows applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

About the Assignment

This role involves processing and analyzing surgical, biopsy, and autopsy tissue specimens. It requires technical expertise in embedding, staining, and special procedures, with a focus on quality and safety standards. You will work directly within a busy histology lab supporting high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
