Registered Nurse - Apheresis

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Days (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

Requirements:

Active New York State RN License/Registration
Current BLS Certification
Minimum 1 year of Apheresis experience required
Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care RN experience within the past 2 years
Experience with Spectra Optia and Cellex systems required
Strong IV insertion and vascular access skills
Experience with AV Fistulas and Vortex Ports required
Experience in hospitals of similar or greater size and acuity preferred
Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
EPIC EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities:

Perform therapeutic and collection apheresis procedures for adult and pediatric patients
Care for both inpatient and outpatient populations
Assess patients before, during, and after procedures
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate interventions
Establish and maintain vascular access using peripheral IVs, AV fistulas, and Vortex ports
Operate and troubleshoot Spectra Optia and Cellex equipment
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
Deliver high-quality patient care with minimal orientation and supervision

Assignment Details:

No on-call requirements
Adult and pediatric patient population
Inpatient and outpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications:

Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience
EPIC EMR proficiency
Strong assessment and vascular access skills
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
