Assistant Controller

We are partnering with a growing organization to identify an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role supporting financial operations, process improvements, and business growth in a dynamic environment. The Assistant Controller will work closely with executive leadership to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision-making. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to ERP enhancements, acquisition integrations, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, and variance analysis. Partner with operations to improve costing, inventory controls, and manufacturing reporting. Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for leadership. Assist with acquisition integrations, including financial reporting alignment and system transitions. Maintain and strengthen internal controls while supporting internal and external audits. Help optimize ERP systems and accounting processes to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy. Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment. Partner cross-functionally with operations and other departments to support strategic business objectives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and financial reporting. Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred CPA or CMA certification (or actively pursuing). Experience supporting ERP implementations or system enhancements. Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations.
