The Pastry Cook at Tallow Steakhouse is responsible for preparing and producing house-made baked goods and desserts that support the restaurant's overall culinary vision. This role plays a critical part in delivering a refined guest experience through consistent execution, attention to detail, and respect for classic techniques. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in baking, a passion for scratch production, and an appreciation for high-quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation.
COMPENSATION:
$23-$27 HourlyKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Prepare and bake a variety of house-made desserts, breads, and baked components according to established recipes and standards. * Follow precise measurements, techniques, and production timelines to ensure consistency in quality, flavor, and presentation. * Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards in the bakery and prep areas at all times. * Work closely with the Chef and kitchen team to support service flow and daily production needs. * Assist with plating, garnishing, packaging, and final presentation for service as needed. * Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients and finished products following FIFO standards. * Uphold Tallow Steakhouse’s commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and execution in every item produced. * Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Previous experience in a bakery, pastry, or professional kitchen environment preferred. * Working knowledge of fundamental baking techniques, equipment, and ingredients. * Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently with minimal supervision. * Strong attention to detail and pride in producing consistent, high-quality products. * Passion for baking and eagerness to learn and grow within a steakhouse-driven culinary program.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a kitchen team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
