Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care and flow through the ED
- Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care while meeting the communication needs of patients and families
- Communicate with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies
- Consult with specialists and ancillary departments as required to coordinate comprehensive care
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and professional responsibility in a fast-paced emergency care environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and/or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification
