Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care and flow through the ED
• Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care while meeting the communication needs of patients and families
• Communicate with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies
• Consult with specialists and ancillary departments as required to coordinate comprehensive care
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and professional responsibility in a fast-paced emergency care environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and/or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification
