Job summary

Alabama Getaway is hiring an Assistant Maintenance Manager to help lead maintenance operations across our Gulf Shores and Orange Beach vacation rentals. This position supports the Maintenance Manager by organizing daily priorities, guiding technicians, communicating with other departments, coordinating vendors, and following repairs through completion. This is a field-based leadership role for someone who can troubleshoot, make sound decisions, and keep both people and information moving.

What you will do

• Help prioritize guest requests, turnovers, owner needs, preventive maintenance, and open projects.
• Assign and follow up on technician work while matching tasks to skill level and urgency.
• Troubleshoot property issues and provide hands-on repair support.
• Review task notes, photos, parts needs, and next steps to ensure repairs are fully closed out.
• Coordinate access, scheduling, and updates with Guest Services, Housekeeping, owners, and vendors.
• Request estimates, meet vendors, and verify completed work when assigned.
• Help maintain parts, tools, keys, vehicles, and maintenance records.
• Coach technicians on communication, documentation, safety, and quality.
• Serve as a dependable leadership contact when the Maintenance Manager is unavailable.

Schedule and compensation

Schedule: Full-time, year-round. Weekends, holidays, and participation in an on-call rotation are expected. 

Compensation: $18/hr with opportunity to increase within 6 months - work from home positions possible - overtime allowed  

Requirements

• Previous vacation-rental experience preferred.
• Relevant maintenance experience in hospitality, multifamily, hotel, or a similar setting required.
• Working knowledge of common plumbing, electrical, appliance, HVAC, carpentry, lock, and general repair issues.
• Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred. 
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and carry tools and materials and safely perform physical maintenance work.
• Professional communication and strong task documentation skills.
