Radiation Therapist

Location: Sterling, Colorado; Department: Radiation Oncology; Work Shift: Day; Shift Schedule: Per Diem, Monday‑Friday (no holidays or weekends). Pay Range: $43.77–$72.95 per hour. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and state licensure if applicable. Must have 3+ years of radiation therapy experience and be able to treat patients and operate the Varian Linear Accelerator. Core Functions Performs radiation therapy treatments by following and verifying referring providers’ orders, using independent judgment and established policies. Educates patients and families regarding procedures and treatment; demonstrates professional conduct and fosters teamwork. Operates treatment and planning equipment, including simulation, prepares treatments, administers prescribed doses, and maintains accurate documentation. Performs invasive/interventional procedures in accordance with policies and quality standards. Evaluates equipment quality control measurements, troubleshoots issues, and ensures safe operation, radiation safety, and proper handling of radioactive materials using ALARA principles. Maintains ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities; upholds confidentiality of all work information. Ensures efficient workflow operation within the department. Independently performs prescribed radiation therapy procedures, collaborating with all levels of interdisciplinary health care team members. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in radiation oncology or related field. National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. State licensure if applicable; BLS certification required. Strong knowledge of clinical techniques, equipment, and patient care. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and safety consciousness. Preferred Qualifications Previous radiation therapy experience. Additional related education and/or experience.
