Monday through Friday: 8 AM – 6 PM. Five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week with a regular day off. No weekend hours!Receptionist Responsibilities:Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.Assistant Responsibilities:Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeriesHandle and restrain animals safely and compassionatelyPrepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfacesPerform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samplesAdminister medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarianFeed, bathe, and exercise animals as neededMaintain accurate medical recordsCommunicate with pet owners about their pets' care, treatment plans, and follow-up visitsClean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environmentQualifications:Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist or medical office assistant preferredStrong organizational and multitasking skillsAbility to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanorAbout Lake Country Veterinary CareLake Country Veterinary Care is a multi-doctor small animal general practice located in the beautiful Finger Lakes of Central New York.
