Painter III

The Painter III is a highly skilled industrial coatings technician capable of performing all blasting and painting operations independently and to certified quality standards. This role requires expert-level knowledge of all coating systems used.

Responsibilities & Duties

· Perform advanced surface preparation using grit-blasting equipment, ensuring proper profile and cleanliness standards are met.

• Apply a variety of industrial coatings, including Inorganic Zinc, Epoxies, and High-Temp coatings, following manufacturer data sheets and internal procedures.
• Mix coatings accurately, including selecting the correct thinners, determining proper mix ratios, and adjusting viscosity as needed.
• Operate and maintain spray equipment such as pressure pots, spray guns, and related tools with minimal guidance.
• Inspect surfaces and applied coatings for defects, thickness, and overall quality, making adjustments as needed.
• Expert understanding of industrial coating systems, including curing characteristics, environmental limitations and application techniques.
• All other duties assigned.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
• Must be able to wear respirator

• Ability to pass NACE Paint Test (or equivalent certification), demonstrating advanced coating application competency.
• Full proficiency with Inorganic Zinc, Epoxy, and High-Temperature coatings.

Education And Experience (Required Levels)

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 5 + years of industrial painting or blasting experience
