Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for conducting functional analyses of patient behavior, participating as a member of the treatment team, contributing to the master treatment plan, and implementing appropriate interventions. This role involves facilitating individual and group psychoeducation, leisure activities, and life-skill training and coaching for patients. The Behavioral Health Technician also ensures patient and unit safety through continuous monitoring and support. Key Responsibilities C onduct functional analyses of patient behavior and implement appropriate interventions. Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to master treatment plans. Facilitate individual and group psychoeducation sessions. Lead leisure activities and life-skill training to support patient development. Monitor patient and unit safety, responding promptly to behavioral or safety concerns. Document patient progress and interventions in compliance with facility standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environ ment . Travel experience required. Preferred Qualifications (if any) Prior experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
