Director of Surgical Services – Level II Trauma Center | Treasure Coast, Florida.
Full-Time | Days, No Weekends | Relocation Assistance Available
A well-established acute care hospital on Florida's Treasure Coast is looking for an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead a busy, high-acuity surgical program. You'll have strong resources, a seasoned leadership team below you, and a direct line to senior leadership.
The Department
- 13 ORs plus 2 endoscopy suites
- Level II Trauma Center
- 30–35 cases per day
- 3 da Vinci Xi robots
- Service lines include ortho, neurosurgery, CV, general, urology, GYN, GYN oncology, ENT, podiatry, pediatrics and vascular
Leadership Scope
- Reports to the Hospital COO
- 3 managers report to you
- About 120 FTEs
What You'll Do
- Lead the overall operations, staffing, forecasting and budget for Surgical Services
- Put evidence-based practices in place that improve patient safety and quality outcomes
- Reduce variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness and cost
- Keep the department compliant with regulatory, accreditation and legal standards, and make sure equipment is maintained to those standards
- Improve patient throughput and flow through volume forecasting and strong coordination
- Use patient feedback and benchmarking to improve the patient experience
- Recruit, develop, coach and retain a high-performing team, and build a culture of accountability and collaboration
Requirements
- BSN required
- Recent experience as a Director of Surgical Services (required)
- Master's degree preferred
