Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Hunting Energy Services team. In this role, you will take part in the full accounting cycle within a manufacturing environment.

The key duties and responsiblities are:

• Perform month-end close activities.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports.
• Analyze financial information and prepare reports for management.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations.
• Analyze labor, material, and overhead expenses
• Compare actual spending to expected or expectations and explain the differences
• Monitor inventory value, track stock levels, and help reconcile physical counts
• Assist with identifying production issues, utilization, and cost-saving solutions
• Liaise with the shared services team on accounts payable and accounts receivable matters
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and data requests to support various finance and management functions
• Participate in special projects as deemed necessary

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Advanced Excel experience
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills
• Working knowledge of GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change
• Ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a team
• Cost accounting experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
• Willingness to develop skills/knowledge and take on more responsibility over time
• Fast learner, initiative and proactive
