Job Description Job Title: Teacher Wage/Hour Status: Exempt-Professional Reports to: Principal Pay Grade: According to District’s Teacher Salary Schedule Dept./School: Assigned Campus Funding Source: 199 Local Funds Department Primary Purpose: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned. Knowledge in effective schools research, accreditation standards, and Texas Education Agency requirements. Knowledgeable in teaching techniques and methodology, child development, and special needs of exceptional learners. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within district resources. Prepare for classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the environment and students. Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Evaluate student progress regularly. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulation. Assist in formulating, upholding, and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board Policy. Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when required. Attend and participate in faculty meetings. Cooperate with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods. Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Establish and maintain professional relationships with others. Maintain open lines of communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress. Engage in professional growth through workshops, seminars, conferences, or coursework. Accept responsibilities for co‑curricular activities when they do not interfere with primary teaching duties. Working Conditions: Monetary demands: Ability to communicate effectively, interpret policy, maintain emotional control, implement TEA regulations. Physical demands: Occasional prolonged hours, stooping, lifting, and other strenuous activities.
