Graphic Designer - East/North East U.S.

Jacobs is seeking a talented Graphic Designer who is a proactive team player, excited and ready to engage on a multitude of projects in a fast-paced environment for our Buildings & Infrastructure Americas team. You’ll be focusing on the design and development of proposals and supporting graphics, presentations, and positioning materials— from concept to completion. We’ll lean on you to be highly creative and innovative, ready to conceptualize, design, and develop visually-appealing graphics and content—from handouts and project sheets to complex visually-compelling proposals and presentations—that will inform and engage the intended audience. This key role on our Jacobs team requires proven technical skills and expertise in developing and executing creative solutions using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (including, but not limited to: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), as well as presentation software (including, but not limited to: Microsoft PowerPoint) to deliver those solutions in a variety of print and digital formats. Along with excellent communication skills, this team player will be flexible, dedicated, organized, collaborative, self-motivated, and can work effectively in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment. We are seeking candidates who reside in the East and North East region of the U.S. For the ideal candidate, there will be be an option available to work REMOTE in this role. Key Duties & Responsibilities: With little to no supervision, leads strategic graphic design solutions to support the production of winning proposals, sales materials, and presentations, including but not limited to long document layouts, PowerPoint presentations, story boards, covers/dividers, marketing collateral/brochures, illustrations, interactive PDFs, ads, and digital media. Plan, conceptualize, and designs compelling and impactful graphics while collaborating with proposal team members and technical staff to strengthen messaging and successfully sell Jacobs. Understanding of one or more markets and/or client groups within Jacobs; begin to develop relationships account teams. Convey complex ideas with smart and concise graphic designs; develops complex concepts visually beyond bullet points. Interpret and convert technical data and conceptual content into more accessible and visually appealing information. Knowledgeable in software trends; acts as a resource for graphic design methods and tools, developing and implementing process improvements, tool(s) improvements, and best practices. Share technical expertise with others and provides guidance and support; mentors other team members in technical areas. Coordinate and provide production and vendor support for submittals and interviews to instruct external vendors as needed on printing requirements. Support and contribute to improvements in processes, productivity, and efficiency for our Creative Solutions team. Proof work to ensure quality control. Coordinate and collaborate with team members in remote locations, and across different time zones. 6-8 years professional graphic design experience. Advanced knowledge of procedures and technical concepts required for role, including design aptitude to understand what constitutes good design, and a demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge using layout, typography, graphics, and images in order to produce highly effective visual communications. Flexibility to adjust your working hours as needed to align with peers within North America. Ability to work occasional overtime hours or on weekends as needed, especially for deadline-driven assignments. Ideally, you’ll also have Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related discipline from an accredited College/University. Prior Architectural/Engineering & Construction and/or Proposal and Sales experience. Exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) and Microsoft PowerPoint; proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); experience working with additional creative, visual, interactive, and multimedia tools a plus.
